The primary purpose of the Elonga sensor is morning resting HRV measurement in the Elonga app. However, the sensor can also be used to monitor heart rate during activities such as running, cycling, or other sports, and it can be paired with compatible devices or third-party apps.
1. What can the sensor do during activity?
The sensor:
measures accurate heart rate,
can provide additional metrics such as:
VO₂,
Cycling Cadence,
Steps Cadence,
transmits data via Bluetooth (BT) and ANT+,
supports up to ~20 hours of active activity recording on a single charge.
2. Using the sensor with other apps and smartwatches
The Elonga sensor can be used for activity monitoring and precise HR tracking outside the Elonga app.
In practice:
it can be paired with smartwatches, bike computers, or third-party apps,
as long as the device supports HR data via Bluetooth or ANT+,
pairing is always managed by the other device/app, not by Elonga.
3. What is and isn’t possible inside the Elonga app
Important distinction:
The Elonga app is only for morning resting HRV measurement (SA-HRV).
You cannot start or record sports activities (running, cycling, etc.) inside the Elonga app.
For activity recording, use another app or smartwatch that supports pairing with an external HR sensor.
Summary
The Elonga sensor can be used during running, cycling, and other activities as an external HR sensor.
Supports Bluetooth + ANT+, with ~20 hours of active recording.
Pairing with smartwatches is possible if the watch supports external HR sensors.
The Elonga app is intended only for morning resting HRV measurement- not for workout recording.
